This week International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) highlighted cyber security as a key issue for the shipping industry to tackle. ICS secretary general Peter Hinchliffe said there is a high degree of complacency in the industry to cyber threats. He added: “As ships get more high tech, which is happening rapidly, we very much need guidelines and contingency plans.”
Ship owners and operators can receive plenty of guidance at the free-to-attend inaugural Maritime Cyber Risk Management Summit, which will be held in association with Norton Rose Fulbright, in London on June 21.
