BSM is aware of a scam email targeting seafarers offering contracts of employment through the company office in the Isle of Man, which are fraudulently purported to be signed by the Company’s Director of Marine Personnel. The email asks seafarers to arrange a visit to the BSM Isle of Man office to gain final contractual papers and are given a false phone number to contact to arrange immigration clearance into the UK. Applicants are then persuaded over the telephone to send money to arrange the apparent immigration clearance.
Emails to seafarers are coming from the address: firstname.lastname@example.org, which has no connection to Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement and the Company wishes to ensure that no seafarers are affected by this fraudulent activity.
Any further queries may be addressed to: email@example.com.
